About Christopher Beck

All over the world people ride bikes. Some ride for fun, some ride for transportation, some even race. Bike riders share a common bond. They were drawn to the bike and have realized it's potential. As a member of Team CF, I hope to use my experiences on the race course to help me harness the power of the bike to have a positive impact on the lives of those who have been affected by Cystic Fibrosis.

Mud at Iron Hill?

The IRON HILL Challenge is a part of the Mid-Atlantic Super Series and the USA Cycling American Mountain Bike Challenge (AMBC) as well as Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship (MARC) race. I was especially excited for the race since in 2011 I was the winner. I like the trail system at Iron hill a lot because it’s  Read more

Testing, testing, 1,2,3

AFC Sugar Hill is the season opener in the Mid-Atlantic region. It also serves as a duel with all my best friends and training partners, and is culmination of waaaay too many winter trainer workouts. This year the weather was ideal, my S-works hardtail 29er was perfectly dialed, and my fitness level was higher than  Read more

The courses are unabashedly rugged, racers camp beforehand, and party afterwards. It’s not a race day. It’s a race weekend. The 2011 Stoopid  Read more

2011 Iron Hill Challenge

The Iron Hill Challenge is scheduled for the hottest day of the year each season. It’s typically oppressively hot at the venue. The sandy terrain and lack of air movement makes it feel like the Sahara, just strewn with lots of sharp rocks and slippery roots, and of course hills. The 2011 Iron Hill Challenge  Read more

It’s good having teammates

The NUE opener was almost not to be had the venue not been spared from mother nature’s wrath. Tornadoes skirted the area as evidenced on my long drive down the interstate. My heart broke for all those effected. I was reminded how lucky I was to be driving to a beautiful locale with my great  Read more

Season Opener -AFC (Adventures for a Cure) Race at Sugar Hill

So I came out with guns blazing this year on a new team with a new bike sponsor. The season opener. Bragging rights for the taking. Thankfully everything went well for me, and I was able to take the win at AFC Sugar Hill. It felt great to test the legs, and have them pass.  Read more
